Founded by Poonam Gupta, the brand carries the promoter’s name as a personal assurance of quality, integrity and trust. “Ratna” honours her great-grandmother, a patron of art and handicrafts, and also means “jewel” or something precious. “Karpasam” is derived from the Sanskrit word “Karpas”, meaning cotton. Together, the name reflects our respect for family heritage, Indian craftsmanship and the timeless comfort of natural cotton.
